Merry Christmas all!
Went to lower my passenger side window today, heard the motor turning but window went nowhere.
A piece of cable popped up on the inside of the window so my first thought was it had snapped.
Now the window can be pushed up or down! Annoying as it works down whilst driving home!
Searches look like this could be a regulator issue?
Can anyone that has had the regulator replaced advise whether this sounds familiar please?
Thank you
Jon

my cable snapped and wrapped itself around the motor
If the windows is free to move up and down it means that the cable has snapped
also be careful if you are going to fit them yourself you need to be quick not to let the cable unravel itself in the new regulator as it is under tension
This is what it looks like when you take off the like twenty bolts the black bit near the metal plate is where the window motor sticks out from the inside of the door

Cheers Reaper!
Think I will give the lads at Midland VW a call in the morning - too cold for me to be breaking things this week!
I'll check euro car parts for prices so I i have something to price against. :drinking:
