Been a long time away but Tonight at 20:30 on BBC2 they are back for a Christmas Special....
1600 mile across Patagonia.
-
Yes and I fell in love with the Lotus Espire and its been trashed!
-
Always loved the Esprit turbos
Didn't realise 928 had rws
-
Part 1 was on last night and was a little... Dull, to be honest. Hopefully part 2 will liven up when the Argies try to kill Clarkson.

You could just have watched all the other "Specials" except they had different cars . I watched it just now on Sky+ and i was very disappointed will all the same "Funny" bits !
-
It was when they even pointed out on the show that they were reusing jokes that I felt truly disappointed. I know Top Gear is now an entertainment programme and not a car review show, but its not really entertaining anymore either.
That said, still not sure which I'd rather, the Porsche or the Lotus...
-
Was a tad disappointing TBH with last night's show.
Won't hear a bad word about the Porka. My father had a 928 S4 about 20 years ago, awesome car IMO. Still check Autotrader regularly for a long termer.
-
Both cars are awesome, that's what makes it tricky to choose.
-
Top Gear Content aside, Argentina looks pretty awesome
-
Agreed. Argentina looks epic but the episode itself was a smidge lacklustre and not all that epic. Hope part2 makes up for it fingers xd!
-
Yep, but these top gear specials are seldom about the cars, more the adventure, the challenge, and spending license payers money :)
-
They still have the best job going heheee!! :signLOL:
-
Hoping tonight's is better. Best thing on part 1 was seeing James May lose the Esprit back end and sh1t himself. It's ace when you can do that and come out unscathed. :driver: :ashamed: :congrats:

Having just watched it and I although enjoyed it,I felt that the show has become tired and formulaic.
Most TV shoes of this age have had a revamp to avoid this but Clarkson and co are of the opinion that as long as folk keep watching it,then they'll stick to that formula.
It's also a case of the persona taking over the real person. They've become accustomed to acting in such a way, that I think they've become like that in life as well.
TG and Jereny Clarkson in particular, are getting publicity for all the wrong reasons nowadays and I think the writing is on the wall for the show in it's current format, even if it is a huge money maker for the Beeb.
-
The press portrayed the incident (Argie Bargie) quite differently from what TG did - typical media!
-
Part 2 was much better
-
The media don't like Clarkson as he's attacked them in his columns before and made them look foolish. TG won't change, it'll just stop one year and that'll be it.
-
I am absolutely in LOVE with that Lotus :ashamed: It was so, so beautiful and I felt so warm & happy when he didn't make it into a "pick-up" like the other two did

In spite of the 3 stooges I don't mind the specials just in terms of being a travel programme with some cars i'm likely to enjoy looking at and see being driven. However i prefer the series where there's a bit more emphasis on the cars they are featuring - still way too much emphasis on 3 middle aged pricks though. Strangely, having said that they are still part of the draw...
