I'm looking to eventually get my car to stage 2/2+ but it's going to take me a while to buy all of the hardware needed but I wouldn't mind in a remap soon, I know superchips allow you to upgrade your stage 1 map to stage 2 for an additional £50 but I was wondering if there were any other remap companies that offer this too.
Cheers

Yep... REVO do it too.
-
Brilliant! Thank you.

R-Tech over a deal for returning customers wishing to go form their stage 1 to stage 2 map. It's obviously not £50 being a fully custom map but IIRC is half their usual stage 2 map price, not bad and worth a thought.
:happy2:

Apr is free to go from stage 1 - stage 2+ But you will have to pay a bit more for the 1st map.

Do you know how much it is? @Sug (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=4663)
@MC71 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=4913) I would go R-Tech but I live in Glasgow so it's quite the trek

£600 as far as I am aware

Id save the money and stay stage 1. Id save the extra cash spent on stage 2+ towards a faster car. A stage 1 Ed30 is going to be just shy of 300bhp so no slouch and the extra 40bhp or so you get from stage 2+ wont be a massive difference in real world performance for the road.

I only had stage one on my eddy which I loved. When buying the R I made that stage one within a couple of weeks. Then a fellow forum member took me out in his apr stage 2+ eddy and I was amazed at the difference. So It was one going to go one way for me and that was stage 2+. Evoms £300, loba hpfp £500 and bcs downpipe and sports cat £300 (second hand) so in my eyes £1100 well spent. Now I can embarrass pretty much anything off the line and keep up with big boys if not quicker. If you can find someone who has there's at stage 2+ or equivalent go for a ride in it.

An R is a different beast as it is 4wd so can put the extra power down. Where as the ED30 will spin the wheels easily in the lower gears trying to put the extra power down. My mate stopped modding his cars and purchased a faster one as standard instead. Only he went o.t.t and got a Lotus Exige 3.5 supercharged that is stupidly quick as std. 3.8sec to 60 and crazy in gear acceleration.
-
Yeh I get what you mean mate, the eddy I went for a drive in did spin up in 1st n 2nd but once into 3rd which was only a few seconds it way away like a rocket and on a decent run would catch the R up.
-
A stage 2+ ed30 would lose out off the line to a stage 2+ R, but once into 3rd gear would catch up, and eventually overtake the R.
Fastest off the line & up to 40mph = Golf R
Fastest from 40mph onwards = Ed30

Yes like what I said so well worth going to stage 2+ in either a gti, eddy or R
One draw back with 4wd been power lost through drive train but the good thing on the R's side is it would have reached a 100mph before the eddy would be making a pass. :happy2:

Just enquired into getting revo stage 1 in the winter sale
Stage 2+ eddy appeals to me so much because its so stealth to other people who don't know much :driver:
