Title: Where have you stuck yours??
Post by: Mako V12V on November 19, 2009, 08:19:46 pm: Erm.....Ed30 number plaque that is? Mine arrived today after nearly a month's wait :happy2: Number 2227 mine is.

My covering letter says "The plaque should be fitted to the inside edge of the front passenger door" and i've received fitting instructions showing the door panel (offside door looking at the picture) and the plaque's positioning 25mm in from the door's edge and 3mm up from the door trim join.

However, i'm not keen on this positioning because if it does fall off when the door is open then it could be lost.

So....where have you stuck yours??

Post by: Frodo-anni on November 19, 2009, 08:59:06 pm: Hasnt someone kept the plaque in doors and using a lettering kit, etched the number on the dash, passenger side... 182_blue rings a bell, i may be wrong. My anni one is on the fuse box cover within the door, looks odd if its on the ashtray.

If you've a case number then surely a phone call once a week would push things along. Its taken me just under a month to get mine:-

1) went into main dealer with V5 and changed over ownership into my name/address.
2) the day after phoned customer services (0800 0833 914) - spoke to Sarah Ratcliff - who knew all about the plaques. She checked my details which had updated on the computer then created a case number for me to receive my plaque.
3) Voila, 3 weeks later plaque arrives
I cant understand the delay, unless your plaque has already been issued and they'll make new ones as and when they've enough 'orders'.
Also, the Customer Services Manager is called Matthew Young (my letter was from him). Try putting some polite pressure on him to get the ball rolling.

yes mate a place near me called coalville signs , i think nath had his from there too , they will send them out for about Â£10 i think if you want the number let me know :happy2:

Blue182 sorted mine out for me a while ago - they are great colleville supplied me with about 5 number sets and 5 "Edition 30" red vinyls - I believe the bill was a fiver ! Great mod - real conversation starter for anyone who jumps in the car - is this a limited edition then .... ? blah blah blah,

BTW guys, I think the correct location for the plaque is in the passenger door recess - just recently I got another letter stating that my plaque will soon be delivered .... despite the fact I received it over 12 months ago !!! This recent letter stipulates clearly that the plaque is to be put in the passenger side recess.

Post by: Mako V12V on November 24, 2009, 07:47:13 pm: Gareth/Greenouse - the info that came from VW with my plaque did indeed state that the plaque be positioned near the inside edge of the passenger door. It also showed a picture of the door panel which was the OFFSIDE door. We would see this as the drivers door. However, if the picture was taken from a German car then it was the passenger door.

The point is....does it really matter which door you put it on, if indeed you stick it on a door and not near the gear stick as some have?

Some people will mention "authenticity", but this is quite humourous in itself as there's many people on hear that have modded their cars rather nicely!

I'm still undecided, but will let you all know the outcome :happy2:

It was a mistake to send out that pic and subsequently people have received instructions telling them to put them on the drivers door. Wouldn't be much point in putting them on the passenger door as you'd never see it! :confused:

Post by: Mako V12V on November 26, 2009, 10:02:48 pm: Okay, i've had confirmation from Coalville Signs (call Pat on 01530 811398) of the costs for both the red Edition 30 transfers/sticker (as seen on the aluminium strip above the glove box) at Â£2.50 and the black number transfers/sticker (as seen on the above photos) at Â£1.50. Then add Â£1 for P&P then add Vat (currently 15% but soon to be 17.5%). This gives a total cost for both stickers to be Â£5.75 incl P&P and vat. If you just want the black numbers, ie "No.2227" then it's Â£1.50 + Â£1.00 + Â£0.38 = Â£2.88. Obviously, you can order as many Edition 30 and/or number stickers as you like.

Pat just needs to know your Ed30 number, your address to post to and will take payment via debit/credit card.
