Title: Sagging springs and alignment

Happy New Year to you all and I hope you had a good great christmas and got lots of nice things. Anyway, before Christmas, I had two new front tyres fitted and a few days later I had the 4-wheel alignment done at a vag specialist. However, when I came to collect the car, about an hour later, they said they could not get it 100% because of the springs where 'sagging' and the amount out of alignment was about 1 minute.  I don't understand alignment figures.  But since then, do drive in a straight line I have to turn the steering wheel to the right a little bit.

Is the specialist having me on or does what they say hold any water.

There could be a number of reasons why it's not able to be returned to factory perfect settings, like worn suspension bushes, damaged track rod ends and many more. I assume the symptoms are felt on flat roads, as most normal roads have a slight camber which requires a tiny amount of right turn to correct occasionally.

I had not thought about those items on the car.  The garage have not said anything about those items...?

They probably didn't check. Best advice is to search for a local tyre specialist that's well rated and pop it into them for a health check, see what they say. Second opinions and prices can always work to get a better deal.

I am going to do that. There are other vag specialist in the area to try.
