I had my car (mkv golf 1.9 TDI BKC) remapped last month and a few days later the EML came on so took it back and had it diagnosed as a EGR Fault....they found that the seals had gone and it wasn't working.....Now I can get a EGR delete pipe etc from darkside and fit this all myself but I still need the EGR coded out of the ECU!
I have VCDS but no idea of where to code it out from! Is there someone on here thats able to help? :)

AFAIK it's not something you can code with VCDS. Why don't you contact the person/company that remapped your BKC to delete the EGR from the map?
I have mine deleted from the map but as it was still working properly I didn't remove it.

oh really? Yeah I asked them but they don't do it. Might have to find someone else to do it then! Annoying if you can't do it from VCDS

Any reputable tuning company should be able to do this. My understanding is they remove the fault code from the ECU so it cannot be flagged. With mine there were DPF codes that were removed also to stop it trying to regen.

As said you can't change EGR stuff via VCDS in PD engine
you can in old VE engines
there are guides of how to code out EGR on winOLS mapping software which you can do yourself.
then again most places would do it very cheaply, if you have it remapped already why not ask them if they can map out the EGR....
you can drive it with the EGR fitted and it won't damage anything and you won't gain any power from the map, you just may get the warning light.
