About time for me to say hello, considering I registered a few months ago. Hope you don't mind another R32 invading this Forum.
I believe that there are two other CW R32 owners on this Forum. I met Very Cherry at Inters this year. I have been to Inters every year for the last 15 years with many different VW's.
This Forum is a wealth of information and I am very impressed with the knowledge of its members.
I had a DBP Mk 4 R32 for 5 1/2 years. Fantastic car. It was mint and I sold it with only 30K on the clock.
I was then up for a change. 3 cars I considered Audi S3, Mk 5 R32 or Edition 30.
The Spec I wanted on the S3 I couldn't afford.
I almost bought a new grey Edition 30 but when I saw a white R32 I just knew I had to have it, also with it being such a rare colour.
I was very tempted by the tuneability of the Edition 30 though.
My R32 has every optional extra apart from the Recaro seats.
I have had it now for just over 6 months. Only mods so far is an EVOMS V-Flow induction kit and the flapper mod to the standard exhaust.
I have a list of future plans. Soon to fit Res Milltek, H&R lowering springs, black gloss wing mirrors with tinted indicators and some black wheels. I will post some pictures up soon.
Cheers
Chris

You and Moschops must be on the same wavelength because he had a DBP Mk 4 R32 as well. I had one too and as much as I love the Edition 30 I regret selling it!

Hi Golfgirl. I remember your Mk4. I bought mine off Ratty (of the extinct R32 Register).
I was looking for either a white or grey Edition 30 too (Great minds think alike eh).
It was only when I managed to get hold of a white R32 I decided to go for that.
The original mk4 R32 is a great car. I do still miss it too!

Welcome along Chris...... :happy2:
Yes went from a 1500 mile MK4 with all the options, which I'd bought new in 2004 to the MK5, wanted a DBP one, but finding one with the spec I wanted was like looking for rocking horse pooh on plastic roses... :chicken: But the white one came up and I fell in love again....also have a White Edition 30 DSG 5 door as the daily driver too... :pomppomp:
I will post some pics up later.
Did you see the white one on Ebay this week, A9 SSS I think was the reg, another DSG 5 door. :driver:

Does anyone know if 5 door mk5 golfs are slightly lower than 3 door ones? I have standard suspension and quite a lot of people ask me if it is lowered. Maybe it's an optical illusion.
I am waiting to fit H&R lowering springs. As soon as someone buys their coilovers!

Welcome Chris

Jules, one of the 5 doors is a manual along with mine and VC's 3 door versions and at least one of the 3 door versions has DSG.
