Hi, so today went to drive to work and noticed that the clutch pedal has dipped, when I push it down there is hardly any distance to go before it touches the bottom of the floor. I can still change gears though. Does this mean I need a new clutch and how much would it be for supply and fitting? Does the battery need disconnecting as I have a revo map and it will re-set it. Any advice greatly appreciated as ever. Thanks.

Any thoughts folks?

Sounds like a hydraulic issue - maybe master cylinder
-
My first move would be to bleed the clutch :happy2:
They show you how to within this video.

Thanks for the replies folks, if it turns out to be the cylinder how much is it likely to cost? Thanks

Mine is being replaced by Alex at the moment. Master Cylinders are cheap to buy (£39 on eBay), it's a PITA to fit from what I've read. Couple of hours labour maybe. . .

That depends on whether it's the master cylinder or slave. If it's the slave it's unfortunately a gearbox off job which means you may as well replace the clutch and DMF at the same time. The master I can't imagine being too difficult to change as it's outside the gearbox.
My slave cylinder is playing up so I'm getting all the other bits replaced at the same time. My first port of call would be to try bleeding the clutch or replacing the fluid, failing that try replacing the master cylinder.

Alex is now onto the slave cylinder on mine as the master cylinder didn't fix my problem :sad1:

Ouch - Hope its not too expensive, what mileage have you done? (your running an R-Tech map if my memory serves my right)

I've got a helix clutch, which is great. Something up with my clutch hydraulics :sad1:
Dreading the bill :scared:

I'm having full SuperPro bushes kits front and rear plus H&R anti roll bars. After reading this I may get a new slave cylinder fitted too while it's all being ripped apart... :P
