I've read a fair bit about some people going for standard and some people going for a performance clutch.
Mine has started slipping just recently at higher speeds, I'm not going any further than stage 1 or modifying further so there will be no more powere output than what there is now.
She's currently sitting at 295bhp /315 ft lb. , what's the standard oem clutch rated to?
Obviously the difference in price is quite a bit and I'd like to do it as cheap as possible so if I can get away with an oem clutch I'd like to do that.
Also, where to go for fitting around the Northamptonshire area, maybe as far as AKS?
Cheers

Just stick a helix in for peace of mind. I would if had a stage 1 ed30. Cheapest place for them and cylinder is awesome GTI a, eurocarparts for flywheel and bolts. Any reputable local garage can fit a clutch.

Alex @ AKS can do you a good deal. Definetly worth it with you living so close.
Stock clutch will slip eventually at stage 1. I replaced mine prior to a remap as I knew it would slip :sad1:

Booked in on the 12th of May at AKS for a helix clutch.
Until then my work have kindly lent me one of the spare company cars we have.

:signLOL: you can still drive the car with the clutch slipping, just drive it a little gentler. . .
That said, my mate has had a slipping clutch on his mk4 TDI for 5 years :surprised:
