Had 2 mk2 s 8v and 20v turbo conversion when I was 20.
Since then I've had a stream of jap imports which is odd seeing as my working career is centred around VW Audi.
Anyway it was time to give up my jap obsession due to mega high running costs and children...
Found a compromise in a mkv gti.
Nicely specd remapped but comfy and driveable every day.
Really happy, wouldn't mind a bit more power (300 would be good) but was a steal at £4500(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ftapatalk.imageshack.com%2Fv2%2F15%2F01%2F21%2Ff450dcbb7fcb6bcb44e76b0857b005b1.jpg&hash=6a21f33ac9afa3a31ce6902fd139e78e8dde2e83)

Welcome to the forum mate, that looks a very tidy car for the money you paid. :happy2:
-
Thanks, hopefully got something to offer to the forum too.
15 years experience working on VW / Audi might be able to help a bit.

Really nice GTI and very good price !

That's good to know mate, your knowledge should come in handy.

Such a good price, great colour too!

Thanks, real happy with it. There are days tho where I miss my evo but now I got heated seats, comfy ride and getting a lot more than 16mpg no brainer..

Forgot to mention, have access to Elsa workshop manuals and etka, experience with vas and odis. I'm intending to setup some trading on here eventually as the company I work for spend several thousand a month with Euro, tps etc so our discount terms are really good
