How many parts is the edition 30 rear bumper in? The standard GTI is in 2 parts, 1 painted, 1 not. I want to replace my rear with an edition 30 rear, do I just need to buy the lower half in 1 piece, or is it in 2 sections?
Anyone have part numbers and a price from VW?

I don't have the part number but im 95% sure it is all one piece :happy2:
-
i think its similar to the GTI bumper in that its two piece, both painted.
But you will only need to get the lower part, it will fit onto your existing bumper! ;)
and i think its over £400 from VW

They are mega bucks from dealers, awesome sell them to but equally as high in price,
Cant comment on how many parts there are though,
Keep checking on e bay for rear bumpers they come up all the time, i bought one that had already been smoothed and painted for £30!!

Thanks guys, I had no idea it would be so expensive for half a bumper! I've alreadey got a newbumper from ebay as I wanted the original factory fit parking sensors. That bumper only cost me £25
Just need to get an ed30 lower half now. I've got a friendly VW dealer that gives me excellent discount, but I need the part number first.

i normally have etka, but i cant access it at the moment.
even if i did it probably say its better to hang around on ebay rather than buying new

I have an older version so it only has the original GTI listed, not edition30.
I think I'm just going to get my standard valance colour coded (with the centre section left black) as £400 is silly money for what it is.

yeh, thats a good option! ;)

I have the ed30 rear and can confirm it is a single piece.
-
the lower is one piece, but from rear lights to the bottom were the exhaust is, that is two piece
-
Definitely 2 pieces. Did this with my 06 GTI. Bought the lower half from ebay.de for £230 shipped. It was £355 from the dealer even with 10% discount ! Keep a look out on the bay.

I was confirming the lower part was one piece if that wasn't clear

I looked into this recently as I damaged my rear bumper reversing into a tree stump. The bumper is in two bits - a top half and a bottom half. The bit in the middle of the lower half is part of the bumper and is not removable. (However, one dealer quoted me £40 for just the middle bit??).
I did have the part number when I was looking into buying it but not sure if I still have as I went through my insurance in the end.
Just the lower half of an Ed30 bumper is in the region of £370 plus painting. I also found when I was getting prices from VW for it, I gave them my chassis number and they gave me the price for a standard GTI part and not the Ed 30 one. I tried three different dealers and had to explain to all of them that it was different to a normal GTI bumper and had to make sure they were quoting me a price for the right bit. When my car went into the bodyshop I made sure the insurance assessor was aware that the GTI and Ed30 bumpers are different. When I went to pick the car up he told me that the wrong one was sent at first. If I hadn't have told him I doubt he'd have known.
Somebody posted the part number on here when I was enquiring about it - I'll look it up and post it up in a few mins.

Look in my thread here (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=7748.0) and the part number for a Pirelli bumper is in there - should be the same?
