Title: Temporarily disable alarm
Post by: Paultc90 on January 23, 2015, 08:45:00 pm
I have a problem with my rear door, in that the car keeps thinking it's opening. This is constantly setting off the alarm. It will think it's closed for a while then open. So when driving every so often the interior lights come on and warning tone.

Is there a way of not setting the alarm or disconnecting it. I've tried the buttons on the drivers side, but doesn't work.

It's only until wed when my car is booked in to sort it.

If you know someone with VCDS then you can disable the alarm in the software, then re-enable it once the issue is fixed

If you lock the car by sticking the key in the door and turning it, this should lock without arming the alarm  :happy2:

The buttons on the side only disables the tilt sensor for towing or the internal motion sensors. I think when you lock the car double pressing the lock button locks the car but does not arm the alarm.

I think the double-press just disables the deadlocking.
