:sad1:My mk5 GTI was rear ended the other night, I was parked at the lights and hit by a Matiz, she was probably doing around fourty fifty and playing with her sat nav........... but do you know, my golf took it, she must of thought she had hit a brick wall,it looked like she was wearing her engine too....... anyway what I wanted to get over is that the golf is built like a tank, and its going to be re built not a right off :happy2:

If you are anywhere near Bodytechnics in Slough they are brilliant.

On a similar note I passed a mk5 golf that had been rear ended by a clio. The golf had a cracked bumper and one of the lights looked fecked but the clio looked like a write off. I guess its a combination of build quality and the way cars are designed to deform so much in a front end impact. Still, rather take my chances in a golf!

Ouch but as said at least you are ok :happy2:

Put your claim through HelpHire - it doesn't then doesn't go down as a claim on your policy. You get a like for like courtesy car and the car will go to a VW approved bodyshop for the work. You don't have to mess with any insurance companies and whole process is totally pain free - All costs are recovered from the third party's insurance company. I highly recommend them.

I had a very bad crash in a MKV Golf a few years ago, if I was in a lesser car i.e. Clio, Corsa etc. I have no doubt that my injuries would have been much more serious. Just goes to show how well the Golf is built :happy2: Glad to hear you are ok mate :drinking:
