hi all im new to the golf mk5 scene I brought a golf mk5 gti with revo stage 1 map and dv+ dv and milltek catback pushing 240.7 bhp It feels fairly quick but doesn't go futher then 130mph any ideas would be much appreciated

My cars never been past 105.

VCDS scan? It should go past 130 even when standard.

Is it exactly 130? When I first got mine it wouldn't do more than 125 on a flat and it was because of the diverter valve.

True story, even then it was because I was in a mad rush to get home after getting some bad news.

I've not heard of a speed limiter on a map before and the car should be good for 150+ all day, I may have had more out of mine :evilgrin:
Does it pull to 130 quickly and then stop?
Or does it start to die out and accelerate slowly up to 130 and stop?

You do realise it has 6 gears dont you? :grin:

Haha yeah I do know it's got 6 gears it just goes too 130mph and just stops there :( it pulls well upto that point

Have you tried doing it would in 5th to see if it makes a difference? You can do 150 in 5th

I'm in 5th upto 130mph but it stays there

I dont know then, as Rich suggested do a VCDS scan.
On the off chance you know anybody with a rolling road near you maybe get a speed run done on there and they might be able to tell you something.

You need to fault code that, because mine on stock did 155 with ease! Now its mapped and has the bcs its been alot further :driver: :rolleye: :jumpmove:
