Title: HELP - Installing an aux port to standard RCD300 without 6 disc changer

Was just wondering if there was anyway I could fit an aux port or somehow plug my phone (ipone 5s) into my cd player? Or would i have to buy a whole new one?
I have the standard vw single din cd player at the moment, sorry i dont have model number... but comes in most standard GTI's.
If someone could answer this it would be a massive help!

I can confirm the cd player i have at the moment is RCD300 but it doesnt have the 6 disc changer so now is there anyway i can ad a port to play song from my iphone 5s or an aux port ?????????

Yes easily done, you can get a box to plug in the back which appears to the headunit as a changer with a single cd in it... then plug an aux cable into the box and route it to your ashtray, glovebox etc. You just press cd twice to select the changer.

Search ebay for "rcd300 aux" and you can't go far wrong. I got the Connects2 one but there are other options.

Does anyone know if you can still use the single cd slot whilst the aux cable is plugged in? I.e. Having an aux cable doesn't disable the slot cd drive?

I had a connects2 unit in my last car but looking to have the aux in the GTI. Searched rcd300 aux on ebay and one of the items it brought up is the link below, would this work?

Yes, CD slot still works.

That won't work with a RCD300 as it doesn't actually have an aux input (let alone an input for USB), hence you need a connects2 to convince the unit you're using a changer.
