Title: Ko3 turbo
Post by: poweller on January 27, 2015, 10:06:59 am
Looking to replace mine as i lost all boost and on inspection noticed cracks on the hot side.

Question is what cars can i get a turbo off that will fit a mk5 gti?

Have a word with back draft motorsport...not sure if they're still present on here. They deal with KTM X-bows and the first thing people do when buying these is to upgrade the turbo. It's rare for the turbo/manifold to crack but it's not unheard off so you can hopefully get a low mileage/used KO3 from them. I did and no problems since.

Have a look on eBay.

TFSI K03 from an A3, A4, Golf GTI, seat leon FR. . .

Or use this as an excuse to get a K04 from Alex @AKS

I have mine still after swapping to a K04, but it's not very realistic getting it out to you because in Oregon, US  :drinking:

Is there not a For Sale section? I would expect others having switched to the K04 would also have theirs lying about.

Totally different platform mate, not comparable to the Mk4 Golf turbos
