Title: rear wheel bearing
Post by: Danbear79 on January 27, 2015, 05:41:52 pm
Anyone know the size of the rear wheel bearing on an 05 Gti? Apparently there's 2 options. Also is a straight forward job?

Didn't know this, two sizes, but our US versions usually differ.
This is what I replaced mine with: http://www.urotuning.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=1K0598611

It is quite easy to do, yes. You will need some extra leverage when loosening the hub bolts. And the torque when tightening is stated to be 132 lb*ft plus 180 degrees...so you torque it and use your leverage to go another 180 degrees. Use new bolts...so if your hubs come without them...get them.

There may be a difference due to model...GTI, Edition 30, and R32. Somewhere in that may be a 30mm and 32mm. Can you reference it by part number?
