Post by: golfgti10 on February 01, 2015, 04:24:13 pm
If I remove the bonnet handle will I lose the cable?

also where on the internet can I buy two new airbag emblems that are on the b pillar and two new protective covers which hide the screw on the rear door cards

Not sure about the bonnet handle question. As for the airbag emblems, take the part numbers into VW and buy some, only a few quid. Same for the screw covers.

The B pillar trim is a nightmare, took me about 30 minutes a side to get it all back in place without breaking anything. Just make sure all the clips are in the right place and the seat belt adjuster lines up, then just use a fair amount of force and clip it into place. It's not easy at all, worst part of the whole interior swap for me!

No you won't lose the bonnet cable.

Look here at airbag emblems for the part number which will help your search :happy2:

Best practice when dealing with Airbags is disconnect the battery and let it stand for a short period (5minutes) then disconnect the item.

If you wish to do it a different way then at your own risk but you will get a warning light which will need cancelled! :happy2:

It's not advisable to play with airbags with the battery connected. Basically if you unplug it with the battery connected they won't go off BUT there's also a possibility of static electricity form your body on the plug setting them off.
