Title: Mk6 gti clocks with white display onto mk5?
Post by: jedi-knight83 on February 02, 2015, 01:54:38 pm
Just wondering if it's a straight swap and with the right coding / modules it was an easy swap. After spending so much time in my new 2012 caddy with the White display the red one in the gold now looks pretty out dated.

Would be nice to get he proper Bluetooth menu aswell.

Yes but you will need a new ABS pump, two key chips, conversion loom and a recent CAN gateway.

Cool. I'll check my abs when I'm back home at the weekend. If that's not compatible I'm not going to mess about changing that.

Presuming that is compatible how much are we talking roughly. To fit to a 2005 gti dsg. Would want the full highline with Bluetooth support.

not to deflate you to much but as you've just said a 2005 i'd have to say right now that your ABS unit will be to old, approx 57 onward was the the correct one fitted.

check your abs pump before you do anything else

you might be ok, late 2005 car will be a 2006 model year at the factory

The ABS pump as a replacement item isn't much of a job start to finish including bleeding two hours and no ramp needed!

Not really. 3 weeks ago I fitted 05 plate golf with white clocks without changing abs pump

@olsen-72 did you have any ABS fault codes after you changed these clocks? Any chance you saved a scan of his car to see the ABS part number?

to make it simple, which pumps are ok with white cluster
Any other variations I will add to the list

Doesn't Work:
1K0 907 379 P (non ESP Caddy)
1K0 907 379 K

Works ok:
1K0 907 379 Q
1K0 907 379 AA
1K0 907 379 AC
1K0 907 379 AF (non ESP Caddy)

No faults at all. Straight swap. Can't remember PN from top of my head and I'm not by my laptop atm.

Is it possible to get the same hill hold capability as my 2012 caddy if I upgrade the abs pump? Was reading that's how that feature was controlled.

Also is it easy to change to the mk6 climate. I'm thinking if I update the clocks the only blue background light would be the mk5 climate and that would look odd.

I have VW golf5 (year 2005) and old ABS pump (1K0 907 379 P). I tried with white cluster VW Scirrocco (golf6 plus) and changing the ABS pump (1K0 907 379 AQ). So in theory it should work but when my 'mechanic' tried to code new ABS to the car it doesn't accept the code. Is there any special thing that should be carefull when coding the new ABS pump? The cluster worked fine just there was error with ABS (in VCDS) so swaped back to normal (old - half red cluster cluster and old ABS pump) so now I am at the begining of project.

Would you be so kind and give me some advice about coding? I am from Slovenia. :)
Is it supposed to be normal coding or is there any catch?
