-
Lookin lurvely chap! :congrats:
Very nice indeed, good colour choice
-
Very nice!
Really clean and pure
-
Virginal :drinking:
-
fastest colour :happy2:
-
Cant believe you found a 3dr CW with DSG with good options too :surprised:
-
very nice but im not jealous at all! :chicken:
much nicer car than the leon you had, we have just moved my misses over to the dark side into an ibiza and she is really excited its a hell of a good car even though its a derv! although i keep saying to her stay with the dubs at least its VAG and much better than the equivilent polo which is 2k more!
but yeah black is the fastest colour of Ed30 btw and the rarest on this forum i think! :P
-
Thanks guys! Been to a few shows with it but not met another CW edition 30 owner yet! hope to get some pics with other ed30's in the future! Is there a place where only edition 30's gather? :signLOL: What specs on yours ed30, 997gtr? I loved the leon but wished it was a cupra, :ashamed: Then started looking at mk5's and came across ed30's then my stalking began, even followed a couple to ask if they would sell! Finally came across mine, was lucky to get it and wouldnt change it for anything, absolutely love it, miss it just now and its only up the road outside my workshop!
-
Truckie - mine has armrest and rear tints only. I'm adding an RNS510 tomoz. Really wanted xenons and cruise but it was hard enough finding a CW 3dr. Also was going down the DSG route but a manual came up first, but really like the manual so dont know if i'd have liked the DSG better!
I've had mine since early October and have done approx 1300 miles in it now. Went through 13k miles last week. Have only seen one other 3dr CW come up for sale and Subaru???? has just bought it - see another thread on here.
Dont know what i'd do if i saw another CW 3dr DSG with lux, xenons, nav, cruise, 08, low mileage etc etc - may have to swap - but i dont think one exists!!
-
Haha, mines is 57 so slightly older than yours, has 16k miles on it but has all the extras you list, i missed out cruise control on my ealrier list lol. Im not really into heavy modding, power upgrades etc just the looks, im hopefully getting an rcd 510 ive got my plaque on the drivers door, and im getting a replica sticker made up for the interior. I also have the engine cover colour coded, will attach pics soon.
-
Hi mate, is that your garage in the first pic? Looking good! ;)
-
Looks stunning matey
-
So clean!
-
I see a 3dr CW with Xenons in Ascot on my way to work every day... it's thing a beauty. I've no doubt yours was worth the wait.
-
CW EDITION 30 in 3 door = :jumping: :jumpmove:
-
Yeah jpc, thats my workshop, well my old mans workshop, i do most of my detailing in there as the weather is usually pretty wet and windy! Some of the pics were taken after my mate used the workshop to correct some marks on it, think they were posted on detailing world.
-
Ah who was that? I might know him! Lol where abouts are you mate? It's nice to see an original looking cw ed30!
-
@ 997gt3
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1341128.htm
It's sold now, been on there for over a week. Only problem was the mileage was a bit high for the year.
@ Truckie
Car looks amazing :happy2:
-
Must have missed that one! Yes the mileage was high for year - will be another 2 years before mine reaches 29k!
-
stunning car :happy2: wish i had a ed30 now.
-
I prefered the Leon.......................only joking :booty:
Lovely car you have there mate :happy2:
-
Thanks guys, just wondering on what to do next? Would like bigger brakes but purely for looks....so that makes it seem crazy to spend £1500 on looks, any other cheap mods that are easy?
-
Milltek cat back non resonated ? :happy2:. (got one on mine ).
-
Milltek cat back non resonated ? :happy2:. (got one on mine ).
Keep seeing this mentioned here and there - what exactly does this exhaust do differently and does it look better than the standard? Is there a resonated version as opposed to a non-resonated one? Does it give more power as a stand alone mod?
Chapter & verse please?

.......i think it looks better (got Milltek sport badges on tail pipes) .Might free up a couple of horses & being stainless won't rust. I went for the non res as it's just a bit louder than standard (not chavy boy racer ).I think the resonated which cost more would be quiter than the standard system. :signLOL:
-
Looks good mate. We'll need to have a CW Edition 30 mini meet next time I'm up at Knockhill :happy2:
-
haha nice on mate. Where abouts you based? Serious lack of ed30's....not seen another one in ages! :sad1: Ive said it before but id love to do a photo the same as the websites cover shot in scotland!
-
I'm pretty local - been up to KH 3/4 times his year so far. I recon given enough notice we'd be able to rustle up a few GTIs and ED30's for our own version of the cover shot :happy2:
-
I'd be up for this :happy2: as I'm up at the hill quite regular with mates
-
Extreme over due update!!!!
Few mods been carried out, just thought id post them in ere and keep it up to date kinda!

Bad boy cherrybombah intake
Carbon bits
-
wow that engine cover looks ace dude :notworthy:
-
Looking good, although you have the older style buttons fitted whereas your car would have come with the outward facing buttons.
-
Yeah, i know :sad1: :rolleye:
-
Looking great matey :pomppomp:
-
Looking good mate, but what about the obligatory remap? Or have you already got one and i've missed it? :ashamed:
-
If im doing a re map on it it'll be after the warranty is up. Im old skool with the Oem vibe as well, so not too sure about a map. I dont know if i would get anything out of it, i drive like an old granny anyway!

Just as much reason to get one then mate.. Use the torque Luke.. :signLOL:
If you've got springs and are going down the Milltek route then warranty can't be to much of an issue surely, as it's less visable?
-
He's easing himself in gently to the modding
intakes could be an issue with your engine cover unless you mod it to fit what you choose.
-
Thats whats holding me back at the mo with intakes...ill get there eventually! :happy2:
-
Another long over due update.....
Not much been happening apart from folk opening there doors on me in car parks and almost endless cleaning of it just to try and keep up with craigy123 off of here!
1st MOT pass :pomppomp:
Anyhoo...... added these cheeky bits in the last week or two: R32 brakes and black VW badge (may be a re-post :ashamed: )
Also gave her a quick winter protection detail....and then it snowed! piccys.................

Not the greatest pics of mods ever but hay ho! :fighting:
-
The front R32 brakes fill the alloys much better than the orig ones and perform better as well.
-
Looks very nice! I love the engine cover! :happy2:
-
Your painted engine cover is lush  :congrats:
-
Looks good but have you managed to scrape the front near side alloy ? :sad1:
-
Yeah, managed to whallop it off a kerb! It actually was the softest graze off the corner of a mcdonalds drive through kerb, but the Michelin ps2's i had before didnt offer much protection! Gutted :signLOL: I have a scuff on a rear wheel as well from when i fitted the tyres :ashamed: Waiting for a bit better weather then ill get them re painted/powdercoated.
-

..........did the same with one of mine, was hardley moving when just finishing parking & just touched the curb :sad1: & put a small scrape in it.Vredesein ultrac sessanta on mine & the rim protector on them is about as much use as an ash tray on a motor bike.
-
"endless cleaning of it just to try and keep up with craigy123 off of here!"
haha, that made me  looking good mate :happy2:
-
Looks sweet, try not to go to VWR for an oil change :signLOL:
-
What's up with vwr for oil changes?! Theyre pretty expensive aren't they?! :signLOL:
-
And about 5 months
-
now then fella
i too have a 3 door CW ed 30 which i do try to keep very clean, but yours looks mint. :happy2:
waxed or polished, what do you use?
-
The most recent clean pics are just after the winter protection detail.
I Washed using the 2bm, tardis on most of the car as the tar was everywhere! Then clayed the car using washshop yellow clay and megs last touch.
Light coat of white diamond glaze, then a couple of coats of Collinite 845 insulator wax. 1st time ive used this and was well impressed with ease of use and beads after a few days of dirt were spattered about the place all i gave it was a rinse....Then the snow arrived! :fighting: Fingers crossed the protections is ok as its under about 3 foot of snow and ice just now!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fad216%2Ftruckie09%2Fb26a8c54.jpg&hash=54ae031527a9fba8f6957ae5875977f070911b5e)
What do you do with your candy white???
-
i clean it weekly but the snow is doing a good job of it at the moment.
i've only used autoglym super resin polish which i thought was good until i saw yours. i haven't used clay before does it make a big difference?
-
When your using a wax or sealant its the prep work that really counts and adds to the shine. Claying is something that shouldnt need done all the time but is worth the effort as it gets the paint as clean as possible, removing all tar and iron deposits. Then the wax or other lsp your using gets the cleanest surface to bond with. Hope this helps! :happy2:
If you dont already, try putting a wax or sealant on top of your SRP and see the improvement in durability and beading!
-
found a few pics of your car chief, from a while ago mind you......
