Has anyone used and Essex at all? I'm looking at taking the Pirelli stage 2 and they are only round the corner from me!
Any body ever used them!

@th3_f15t (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=8969) has used them, as have others. They are cheap and quite knowleagable with the mk5 GTI.
They dont offer the same service as R-Tech (a full custom map with switching options, VVT & traction control mapping included in price), but their maps are safe & quite strong.
The Dyno has been proven to be a bit optimistic - at stage 2 you will probably get 350bhp on their Dyno
-
I've also heard that there Dyno can be very generous

I'd recommend them all day long, while not the most cutting edge custom maps they have written a faultless map for my engine, not a single problem. Yeah, their figures are a little optimistic but a few people have proved its only a 5% overshoot.
They're better to use than R-Tech if you're local as if you do get issues or need something tweeked then its a short trip rather than a 90 minute drive (not disputing R-Tech's reputation before anyone gets angry!). I live near AmD too so will keep an eye out for you.

Ideal spot on for the responses guys!

I had an amd stage 1 on my gti and like the fist says they are faultless, great service from the guys if you live local and the gti felt like an animal after it was done
