My first post is missing luckily I copied it when the server started sh*tting a brick. :)
Hi all. Does anyone know if the bluetooth on my RNS315 is built into the unit or an external module? Also, is it possible to get a version of the RNS510 with DAB?
I would want to retain both if I upgraded.

there are RNS510 with DAB. Version E is he main one that floats about. to separate the DAB from the standard RNS510 units, you need to look at the back of the unit.
if it has a black connection on the top then its DAB as this is the connection for your DAB antenna.
HTH :happy2:

bluetooth is built into the RNS315
if you fit an RNS510 you will need a BT Module and loom

Cheers both.

I thought it was version dependant. I have 3C0 035 279 B which does not have Bluetooth :(

Not all units support BT
if it has a mac address on the sticker then you have BT
the OP has bluetooth on his unit, which will be lost if he upgrades to a DAB RNS510

Deako,
Eddie-NL has done this very mod on mine! It's a bummer but you just need the BT kit and the DAB version of the RNS-510. You can sell the 315 to off set some of the cost but it's well worth it.
I used the opportunity to get the latest version that has an ssd instead of the normal hard drive but I'm convinced the amp inside is an improved version over the standard "C" version I had in the Golf, as it sounds much better.

Excellent. Will have to get Eddie to do this for me same time as cruise retrofit!! :happy2:

I've got a slightly unusual RNS 315 without Bluetooth since the car has its own separate module, but as above most of them have it built in.
This lists out all the different 315 versions - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/287901-amundsen-bluetooth/?p=3421360
Oh and I can also recommend Eddie as he fitted cruise and highline for me on an old Leon I had previously!
