Title: Stone Chipped Bonnet
Post by: jakex181 on February 06, 2015, 03:45:04 pm
My bonnet seems really chipped, i was just wondering if most guys on here have alot of stone chips with their golfs, my car is an 06 plate. Also has anyone had theirs repaired? If so how? Below is a picture of my bonnet:

Wow that photo looks more like a starry sky at night
I guess the car has done over 100,000 miles? if so you can't help it on A roads really without a bonnet bra. Mine has done the same thing, as did my black MK4 before it.
Guess the bonnet needs a re-spray really?

Its on 93k, everytime i wash the car it winds me up seeing the bonnet like this :sad1: Ive been thinking about selling the car recently as it approaching 100k and i wouldnt mind something newer, the only thing that worries me is the bonnet :/ everything else is perfect :/

Cheapest option is a genuine vag touch up set off Ebay, the dealer took ages to order in tornado red. You can get just the paint or paint and clear coat as well.

Going by your photos i'd say it was pretty pointless attempting it with a touch up pen, as it can often make it worse/stand out more in my opinion when its that bad. If your that bothered about it just get it sprayed, should only be about £150-200 depending who you take it to :happy2:

I've used dr color chip on a section of my bonnet. When i get time i will finish the rest and take some closeup pics before and after.

Here an old pic. I've done above the GTI badge across to where the white speckles start again. I did the worst section first.
