I have the same problem on my MK5. The light stopped working, but its not the bulb or fuse. Somebody did suggest a fix to try, but it meant stripping out the whole glovebox to get to the back of it. I couldn't be bothered and just live without it. Having said all that, the MK6 might be different and there could be an easy fix. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to help :happy2:

The circuit current flow diagram shows a switch in the circuit - locate and check the switch - colour code of wires going to the switch on MKV are:-
Positive feed
Red with blue tracer (into switch)
Red with white tracer (out ofthe switch to the light)?
If you need the drawing PM me and I'll forwarded it on.
Wil check the MKVI and come back with its wiring details.

Just checked the MKVI current flow diagram and it's the same as the MKV using the same colour code.
Locate the switch and check it out!
