Title: Paint correction needed - Tornado red MK6 GTD
Post by: Degudodger on February 08, 2015, 06:26:43 pm
Gave the Golf its first proper wash since buying it 6 weeks ago and only noticed today the extent of the paint swirls. Any recommendations for a decent detailer in Hampshire how can de-swirl my Golf :)

I would recommend Tim at Envy Car Care in Fareham if it's a professional you want.

A fellow Mk5 GTi enthusiast he is and top bloke  :happy2:

Okay so i knew a partial paint correction was not going to be cheap but do not expect £400+ with that in mind i'm now looking at doing it myself.

Next step is to buy a couple of red bonnets to practice on and DA plus cutting/polishing agents.

Yeah detailing isn't cheap, with a DAS6 you'll need some very firm pads and compounds with a lot of elbow grease since the lacquer is hard on these.

my tornado is quite badly swirled too, but to the unknown and from a distance, it looks very shiny, trying my best to ignore it until the spring, then i'll get the machine out and give it the works!
