Just said this to the mrs, sky is getting crap, all repeats. Use it more for the record function tbh

Problem is the other options are pants

I have a Humax 1000S 1TB HDR after getting rid of Sky and highly recommend it. If you miss Dave that much you can connect your pc/laptop to your tv and watch UKTVplay.  :happy2:

We have had a Humax Foxsat HDR 500GB for about 3 or 4 years. Brilliant piece of kit. I had a cheaper make to start with but sent it back. The cooling fan was so loud! I thought the thing was going to take off. Nice and silent with Humax  :happy2:

Use moviebox 99% of the time now with an Apple TV, no need for any subscription to sky or whatever.

I've got a YouView (http://www.youview.com/) box that can record/pause/rewind etc. and has catch up and on demand.  I've recently bought a basic Freesat box too as I want more music channels (there's only two music channels on Freeview and they sometimes have sh*te like the Kardashians on instead).  I went for the Manhattan which was the cheapest on Amazon.  I don't need much from the box as I have the YouView for that so it meets my needs, although is a bit slow to respond when I press the buttons on the remote.
