A quick test is to have the car running.. Disconnect the front hose from the PCV that connects to the inlet manifold, and then block off the inlet manifold bung with your hand, if the idle settles then you know its a faulty PCV..

The hose with the green and red arrow on either side.. Disconnect that and then block off the inlet manifold (big plastic piece fixed to the front of the engine) with your hand..

I've not noticed any difference.  I think you will probably only notice a difference if your PCV was already on its way out.

i noticed better fuel economy by about 2bhp, but i think my PCV was broke before i fitted it. plus you should see the amount of crap that comes out of it. I empty fortnightly and loads of stuff comes out

How often you have to top back up now?

I've had my catch can installed for about 2k miles now.  I empty it weekly and am getting about 3 floz per 350 miles out of it.

Oil top up wise its looking fine, not had to top up at all yet.
