Title: boost reading on idle? leak?
Post by: sgour on February 14, 2015, 04:32:01 pm
Hi all.

I recently got myself one of those cheapo odb2 wifi readers from ebay and I was having a play about with it today. And i see my boost on idle is on average about ~-11psi. Since im not that mechanically minded I done a bit of searching just to make sure everything is ok and it turns out that it should be about ~-20psi, almost double what I am at currently since it said higher negative value=more vacuum.

Now, the car doesnt really seem underpowered (to me atleast), just maybe not as responsive? It is a k03 revo stage 1, ive a revision d diverter valve, and had the pcv replaced last year. Does anyone know if ~-20psi is where it should be, and if so-where should my first port of call be to check?

Thanks !

Thanks :) Ill order one, I read they are better at holding boost than the D

The car is also due its service now , so I might get the guys at the VW garage to give the turbo hoses/connections a check over too since they will be replacing the thermostat too
