Title: Bosch S5 007 died after only 2.5 years!!
Post by: homesqueeze on February 14, 2015, 07:39:57 pm
Was disappointed this morning to find my Bosch S5 007 battery had given up on me. I only got it two and a half years ago. I bought a Bosch because I thought I would get reliability! Poor show! Fortunately I managed to borrow a charger and get to Eurocarparts, where they honoured the warranty and swapped it for a new battery. Anyone else had their Bosch die on them?

Atleast you kept the receipt  :happy2: did you notice it dying over the previous few weeks or just died quickly?

Pretty sure I'm on my original battery, nearly 8 years on  :scared:

I'm playing a dangerous game, as I know they can go suddenly  :rolleye:

Just went out of the blue. Has been fine, even through the recent cold weather.

Batteries can last for years and others a lot less. It depends how hard the battery is worked. Short runs with lots of use of the heated screen etc will put a strain on the cells and cause it to go dead. I would also check your alternator to make sure it is charging correctly.

Yeah, I know my driving style is not good for batteries, but its strange because my last one lasted for seven years before it got a bit weak. When they gave me a new battery they tested the old one and said there was no doubt that the battery was knackered, so hoping that's all it was.
