Title: Advice on changing grill on GT Sport to GTI ones please
Post by: coullgfx on February 16, 2015, 05:55:21 pm: Hi all. My 1st post, had a search and couldn't find anything, sorry if there is other topics and ive missed them.

I currently own a 2008 GT Sport TDI. Had an ep3 before, and decided diesel was the way forward. I know this is technically a GTI forum, so you can all haze me for being a diesel owner lol.

Anyways, I was wondering if I bought the GTI front grill kit, would it straight swap onto my gt sport, or is the fitting different? As the GTI grill looks much better, especially the red trim.

Was also thinking of buying a matte black front VW badge as theyre only about £15. Too cheesy?

100%? I only ask as quite expensive, and ebay listings only list the gti as models the parts will fit. Although they do look like they will from images

Post by: PatchySan on February 16, 2015, 06:19:14 pm: Yeah a couple of people have converted from the GT Sport Slats (aka Wolfsburg in the US) to the GTI Honeycomb grilles without issues (and vice versa). You could try and see if there are any GTI grilles available here in the For Sale section as it may be cheaper than those found on eBay.

Want to cut the "I" off as my car is only a gt, don't want to badge it up as something it isn't.

The badge simply unclips from behind

GTI grills will 100% fit on your GT, i did the opposite and fitted GT grills to my GTI :happy2:
