Title: What are the basics I should replace.
Post by: Scott73 on February 18, 2015, 10:01:44 pm
Hi, I collect my first GTi next week and I was wonder what the first things I should check/replace and roughly what I should be looking at price wise for each job?
I checked the full dealer service history and know it's had the cambelt/water pump done and has had one DSG oild change, it's done a little over 60k.
I would really like to check everything and get the basics out the way from the start. The only things I know from reading on here so far is the diverter valve? And cam follower? But not sure what I should be looking to pay to get them done or any of the other basics.

Thanks,

Scott.

Worth updating the PCV while you're there, I've done mine tonight piece of piss.
Doing the cam follower on Friday.
