Title: Stupid Question - 12v Socket
Post by: SkyJawa on February 21, 2015, 05:23:24 pm: Ok this has probably been answered a million times but I tried search and google and can't find a definitive answer.

We have an 05 GTi - is the 12v socket in the ashtray permanently live? Or does it go off after x amount of minutes?

I read someones post that 06 on was switched but earlier were permanent? But it wasn't anything conclusive....

guess they are always ON.

Both of the '08 mk5's I've owned only send power to the cig lighter when the ignition is on

I have a fuse tap for my bluetooth kit. I connected to that.
Get one of these.
