Can you have a power shower if you have a combi boiler? Do you just need some some of filter device instead of the built in pump?
Thanks :drinking:

No mate as you can't pump high pressure

I've never heard of anyone running one from a combi boiler, it might work if you have a really high-end combi with a decent hot water flow rate, but they usually require an unvented 'mains pressure' hot water cylinder, or self-contained booster pump with heating function.
Have you considered a thermostatic electric shower?

thanks guys.
How does the thermostatic one work John?
Just bought new house and done it all up but not impressed with the electric shower have bought, its a bit naff (needs a remap perhaps :rolleye:)

I'll find out for you of my step dad as wev got a power shower and a combi! Hes a gas engineer :happy2:

You can't generally run an electric power shower off a combi , you just need a thermostatic shower mixer plumbed in to hot from combi and cold mains , this will give you the powerful shower you need!

A power shower only needs the cold mains. So has nothing to do with the combi.
Infact it's a good idea for when your combi breaks down (and it will) because you will still have hot water.

Check out the aqualisa digital showers... really good! :happy2:

No, an electric shower only needs a cold mains feed. A power shower takes a balanced hot and cold supply. The pump inside a power shower wouldn't last long under the high pressure of a combi. People always get confused between a electric shower and a power shower as they look similar (white box on the wall).
I have an Aqualisa Rise shower, they do different versions depending what sort of system you have (high pressure or gravity) and well worth a look!!

Thanks guys, will check them out :drinking:

They do other ranges too depending on ur budget. I have the Visage model in my en-suite. Just as good and less than half the price!!
