So i've had the car for 7 months now and have been having this issue for a while. The first time i put my foot down after warming the car up the turbo wont kick in until about 5.5k revs? After that the turbo will kick in like normal at around 3k. But until i dont hit that 5.5k i dont get boost whatsover even after that cars been warmed up for a while. Is this normal?

A good place to start is http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,44709.0.html (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,44709.0.html) but it's better to get some logs if poss, before changing this out that may not be broken.

Anyone else had this issue before?

Could be a sticky actuator on the turbo. My first point of call would be to get some logs, of boost, n75 valve, and revs. Also a scan with vagcom, see if there are any "soft errors" i.e. not enough to throw a check engine light but enough to be logged.
