Title: TTS rear brake setup
Post by: gixerben on February 28, 2015, 02:21:06 pm
Hi all, am I correct in thinking the TTS rear brake setup is S3 spec and will fit the MK5 golf platform?
I see that the dics are the 310mm flavour.

I have fitted the complete front set up and I'm very pleased with the upgrade and just need to sort the back..

looking to start this in the coming weeks, what dust shields do you guys use? bent R32 ones or did I read some where EOS ones do the trick?

Different.

Offset is off by 10mm

That said if you fit tts carriers, discs and calipers then it should be ok but the handbrake cabled bracket on the caliper may rub the inside wheel on an 18"

Caliper is the same as S3

It's a handy bit of kit to have as with the tts and tars rear carriers it enables the steel 335mm conversion on S3 rear hubs

I have the lot, carriers, calipers, disc's n pads, but if they aren't going to fit I my scrap the idea, I will be running standard Pirelli 18".
Do you mean the carrier has a 10mm different offset? so would it work using r32 carriers?

Im confused, any help regarding tis would be most helpful..

sorry to go..but after doing a bit of research, the TTS rear disc are indeed 10mm less in offset than the golf R32/S3 items so I'm guessing it will put the caliper 10mm closer to the back of the wheel?

And with that in mind an increased disc size from standard GTI spec to 310mm so about 14mm?

Am I correct in thinking the carrier moves the caliper out the extra 10mm or will they just not fit because it needs a TT rear hub?

There seems to be plenty of room behind the wheel in both direction so it may work..opinions?
