Hi
Thinking about getting highline instrument (cluster/large MFA). I've been reading that the ones ending with 970, 971, 972, 973 and 974 can be used. But 973 and 974 are harder to code?! What are the differences? which should I look for?
My car is a mk5 golf gti from july 2006. With cruise control and non MFSW and midline display. I have acces to VCDS
Thanks Nicolai :happy2:

I would match your current cluster with the highline version of that
if you have a got a 961 get 971 that way it will work as VW intended :happy2:

it can come from any, You just need to make sure you can get someone to code it for you.

You cant code it using vcds, you need a vag commander cable if you are coding 970,971 or 972 clusters.

Which Vag commander do I need? :)

ebay item: 151041860027
but first I would do a scan with vcds and see which part number cluster you already have. the ebay vag commander can only read up to mid 2006 vw clusters. if yours ends in 960 961 or 962 then you should be ok and then get a highline cluster ending in 970 971 or 972.
