It's a recurrent question and there are already too many topics with an answer to it.

An example: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,94073.msg941292.html#msg941292 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,94073.msg941292.html#msg941292)

You can either get this splitter:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311234686059 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311234686059)

Or this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171578195007 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171578195007)

Should be the same. I know the 1st store has quality items because both my splitters were bought there. :happy2:

No, I got the parts from Germany. It's the 2nd store that has parts made in Poland.

I've bought that very splitter, should be here tomorrow. I'll let you know what it's like when it arrives though probably won't be able to get it painted for a week or so.

It arrived this Monday and it looks to be OK but not fitted it to the car yet so can't really advise on fitment just yet. Might be able to test fit it tomorrow but probably look at getting it on next week.

Test fitted today and it's not good news, the splitter is too short and doesn't meet the ends of the bumper properly, it's off by quite a lot tbh. Going to have to do a bit of fiddling to get it looking half decent. I'm going to message the seller to see it I can get some money back but it doesn't fit anywhere near as nice as the OEM ed30 splitter.

So for anyone interested, get the splitter from the German shop: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311234686059 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311234686059). This fits well.

Atm I have an older version fitted in reinforced glass fiber (link: www.ebay.de/itm/271733940484 (http://www.ebay.de/itm/271733940484)). You can look at the pictures of it in my project. I damaged it a bit while getting out of a steep driveway.

I bought one from this store in ABS plastic and I'm waiting to have an opportunity to get it fitted. If you'd like to wait, I'll show photos when I get it done. The feedback is the best and I've bought other stuff from this store and I have no complaints.

thats the only one i can find for the standard front bumper :(

I got it months ago but didn't take any picture. When I unpacked it to see how it looked the overall shape seemed fine. Just like the one I have atm, so I packed it again.

If you prefer to wait, I'll get it fitted and share pictures afterwards. I won't change anything else that I already have planned in this GT Sport as I'm in the process of buying an Eddie.

Glad I purchased this one then! (Just today!)

So I got mine today and I'm impressed and not impressed - let me explain...

I have black lowers on my cw GTI so I wanted the ed30 look but in black. This is so not oem looking. It is a rigid plastic painted black.

It is a good quality but I can't do the car an injustice and leave it black - for that reason I'm not installing it.

If I had painted lowers and I was going to colour code this splitter than perfect, I just saved £200 over buying original.

Anyone fancy taking this off my hands for half price then pm me... I can't be bothered posting it back to Germany.

Some pics.

@bluo (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=9939): Yes, these splitters are meant to be sanded and painted. If I knew you were after the OEM looking crude plastic, I'd have warned you that this plastic isn't like the OEM black plastic parts. Like you already know, the Ed. 30 doesn't have crude black plastic parts visible. :/

@K9 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=6852) It's screwed. I saw that some fixing points needed to be drilled but that should be easy. Who fits mine just needs to copy what's done with the reinforced fiberglass one that I have at the moment.

I think it only gets screwed to the bumper and the lower engine protection. But can't you get it fitted in the shop with experience in mk5 GTI? It should be the same to fit this splitter and the normal one.
i have a garage and i removed my current gti one to get that painted with the screws. really don't know why the seller told me this will be glues on  maybe i will just try to fit it before paint.  PS. should i get the middle selection painted gloss black
I prefer mine painted black, I have it in both my Golfs. But it's a personal preference. The OEM look is all the same colour.

I ordered the one from Germany. Test fitted it and brought it to the painter. Friday it will be ready.

It does not fit as good as I thought it would. The fitment is good, not perfect. I am sure that there isn't a aftermarket ed30 lip that will fit as perfect as I want it to fit.  I will post some more pictures this weekend.

You need to be very handy to be able to fit it perfect. Friday I will take some time to fit it better.

Old out, new in. But I didn't screwed it.

If you're willing to accept that the fitment would not be 100% perfect it's definitely worth the money. I'm happy with it.

@TheDGM (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=7501) So would you say that the version in fiberglass reinforced with plastic has a better fitment?

@samiul11 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=9775) Those pics were taken with the splitter in fiberglass reinforced with plastic but I damaged it, so I have the German ABS version in a box at home waiting to be painted.
