Title: KENWOOD DDX5025DAB upgrade
Post by: caviarjim on March 16, 2015, 09:12:13 am
Morning All, I have recently bought a 2006 Tornado red gti and i am looking to upgrade the existing MFD2 sat nav to the above mentioned Kenwood unit. I am thinking of attempting the fit myself as on paper it seems relatively easy. Have any other members done this (or similar)? Are there any particular issues? The car has the factory hands free kit and MFSW. Finally, i would like to remove the factory phone cradle, short of buying a new glove box surround is there any way of disguising the hole that is left? Thanks in advance for your help

I have a DNX525DAB and it was incredibly easy to install. Literally take the old one out and plug this one straight it. Very simple.  I'm not sure how similar the two units are, so I'm afraid that's as far as I can help you, oh my MFSW is fully compatible with my radio.
