Title: Another cam follower post....
Post by: Bazgti on March 17, 2015, 12:45:48 pm
Cars due in for 80k and Mot tomorrow at my loval VW. After reading about issues around the cam follower i thought it might be something that might need doing. Ive enquired about the part and the part advisor questioned why i was changing it because hed never sold one before. Are they a common 'potential' problem or is this jist hearsay? Thanks

Changed mine few months ago at 69k miles and old one was like new!
Mine is a later 2008 Gti with Bwa engine so maybe its more of an issue with earlier cars with the Not so good engine code fitted!

Get it changed, its more than hearsay some do wear quite badly and if it goes then it could be a very expensive bill. For the sake of £60 odd fitted its more than worth doing. If you're current one is fine then you'll probably never have to do it again but its worth doing at least once.
