Title: Digital a/c,how to?
Post by: Adam-golf on March 18, 2015, 11:48:25 am
I have a diesal golf with the standard a/c controller. I've bought the digital to replace it with. I've researched it to see if it's a easy replacement or not, which it isn't.

But I'm just wondering if I can install it but just use the orginal a/c settings to wire it to. So there will not be dual a/c.

Has anybody done this or know if and how you can do it?

Any help is must appreciated

If you have manual controls, to fit the digital climatronic is much more than the display, there's various motors behind the dash which will currently be missing or controlled by physical cables.
Its possie, but not easy and probably quite costly.
I'm not sure the display can be used on its own.

To help you find more info on google etc I think you have 'climatic' system, the digital one is known as 'climatronic'.

Thanks for the help mate. I have read that there is loads to change and it's hardly worth doing it. I just want it for the look then for the purpose of it being dual lol
