Title: edition 30 stage 2+
Post by: stuartm on March 18, 2015, 02:17:10 pm
Currently got a edition 30 with full bcs system with decat , forge blow off valve and itg intake system . Thinking about going for a new hpfp and fmic . What sort of power can the standard internals hold and keeping reliability ? And what intercooler is best choice ? Twin spec or replace standard one ?

Cheers Stuart

PERON IC is the new kid on the block and is the best around (by all accounts) and that's a straight swap for your standard one. With that on board plus a HPFP you'll see around 360-375bhp and a min of 360ft lb. Add a Audi FPRV along with the HPFP, cheap little mod but needed.

If manual, you'll need a uprated clutch too.

Im sitting at 336.7bhp the now thats what it got on its best run ! Already got a sachs upgraded clutch and pressure plate fitted to it aswell . Surely that will take more power ?

Get your car to R-Tech!

Mid 330bhp is about right for stage 1.5/stage 2 (depending on who maps it) for you at the mo. You'll not squeeze any more out of a stage 2 K04 than 375bhp really and that's probalby with some uprated Turbo pipes and runner flap delete too. You want more, add WMI and a Hyprid K04.

Torque wise you'll get well over 400ft lb with a R-Tech map but that depend on your uprated clutch. Mine was taken to 420ft lb but that was its ceiling and was bought back to a comfortable 375f lb.

Cool cheers for the info mate .

What sort of power can the k04 turbos deal with and what can the standard internels cope with while keeping reliability if you know ?

Pretty much what I mentioned above, Niki at R-Tech will squeeze every drop out or it. If that's what you want.

IIIRC he has 375bhp out of his misses Eddy and that at the limit without WMI.

I've seen 400bhp and 450lb/ft with WMI and a very well flowing setup mapped by R-Tech. It was too brutal on the road, and even a real handful in 5th gear  :driver:

Stage 2+ R-Tech with linear throttle map and traction control mapping would be fantastic (linear throttle, switchable maps and traction control mapping is all part of the cost  :notworthy:)

Don't get sucked in by chasing peak figures. What you want is a car that is driveable without all the power being in the last 1500 rpm.

Ditto.  Mine's mid 300s and gears 1 thru 4 are useless in the wet.  Damn good fun in the dry though!

I'm not feeling the linear throttle map either.  Getting it switched back to default asap.
