Title: Tracking issue...
Post by: TaylorGTi on March 18, 2015, 06:30:46 pm
So endless problems on tracking with my Pirelli atm. Firstly the rear control arm was seized so couldn't adjust at all! Iv now had a new arm put on with new bolt and it's all been alligned and steering wheel is slightly to left when going straight. I was there when he was doing it chatting away. Definatly put the steering wheel straight and clamped it. Then adjusted from rear back. He tracked it 3 times for me free of charge and still slightly to the left.

When going straight with hands off car goes straight and true so could I just take steering wheel off and straighten it up?

I'd really avoid removing the steering wheel, coming from someone who went back 4 times to a garage as they couldn't get the steering wheel dead straight!

Eventually they did, they got one of their guys to sit in the car for the duration and keep the wheel straight.

Also, try and use a garage that uses the Hunter alignment system, much more accurate than the old laser line type  :happy2:
