Title: Oil type

So my car has just been service by VW... I was previous runninv Castrol 5W30 FST..
Just noticed the dealer has fitted Platinum 5W40...
Is that alright to use? Better or worse etc? Probably recommended oil now?

Just be slightly thicker when warm. Alot of people use that grade to help oil consumption
