Title: New Owner...Collecting my GTi Project Weds
Post by: toplad on March 21, 2015, 07:41:44 pm
Hi all

This is my first post on this forum, probably of many. So I thought I would introduce myself.

I am Adam and will be collecting my Black Gti this week, its an 05 plate with 81k, it's by no means a minter and needs a few bits sorting,

The current list is,

Service and check over
Probably brakes
Wing mirror cover and indicator(searched for info already)
Painting of arches, bumper a few other bits. (could do with your recommendations for Leeds/west Yorkshire sprayers )
Alloy re- furb (DIY, pics to follow)
Interior arm rest a bit worn and will also need a light switch selector
Remap on the card and a few nice mods

Sure there will be more along the way

Any advice on parts or services grateful received

Cheers

If you are doing the arches because of rust then it's worth contacting your local VW dealer. These are being sorted free of charge in most cases. Do a search on here, plenty of info.

Cheers PT info.  :congrats:

The car has patchy service history at best and warranty, does that make any difference?

Hasn't made a difference for some owners. Depends on the dealer but do your research before going so you have ammo if they mess you about  :happy2:

Mine's having new wings as we speak...all Free of Charge + Courtesy Car.

No VW History....no extra warranty.

Hope that helps :)
