Title: Quantum Tuning?
Post by: john87 on March 23, 2015, 02:15:07 pm
Hi folks,

I've been offered a very good price for a stage 1 map on my R32, and the company who supply the map are called Quantum Tuning.

Their website quotes gains of 20bhp and 30ft/lbs torque, which isn't bad for an N/A engine and for the price I'd be paying (50 quid off the given price). Has anyone heard of this company before, and if so, share their experiences?  :popcornsoda:

I've not come across them before, do a Google search and see if other forums have mentioned them. :happy2: End of the day, if it isn't good you can replace the map with a Revo or custom one anyway.

Don't do it! Do some research and don't be fooled by hp or lbft claims and a wallet friendly price tag by a jack of all trades company that will offer a map for anything, from a car to a flaming tractor! All they do is percentage based tuning, turn this up 'X' amount, turn that up 'Y' amount. Nothing more.

Find a decent tuner, plenty out there

There's been people on here who have had maps from them and afterwards they've all had issues. Do a search and you'll see for yourself.

As above - I'm sure there was a thread on here recently outlining all sorts of problems.

Go to RTech! Or if you really must do it from home Blufin Stage 1 is safe enough. Stage 2 gives problems, apparently.

Rtech R32 maps seem really good from the few he posts.
Huge midrange gains.

Thanks for the input, gentlemen!

Apparently they offer a 30 day satisfaction guarantee but I think I'm going to do a bit more digging. It was more the price that was enticing me, every Scotsman loves a bargain  but if it's a poorly-written map, it's not exactly a bargain is it..
