Evening everyone. Just wondering something that might seem a stupid question but this is my first car that is dsg.
Just wondering if my car is running correctly basically , car is currently on standard map at the minute but recently had full turbo back sport cat eurojet system fitted, a little louder than id hoped but anyway That might be all the issue is, the sound making me think its not running correctly.
Right anyway for example cruising on a perfectly flat part of the motorway, car is in D mode so say cruisiing at 60mph and dsg is in 6th gear is it about right that the revs are sitting at 2k when cruising at That speed?
It just seems/sounds to me it's having to rev more than it should be but again it might just be the difference in sound with the differennt exhaust, but the car doesn't seem as quick low down as i expected a mk5 gti to be, it seems like all the power is at top end. Will be making a trip to r tech as soon as i can.
Cheers guys

If anyone got an opinion views etc there experience with dsgs would be much appreciated

Seems ok to me, think mine does about the same Rev/mph. The tbe could make you think it's at higher revs. If you feel it's lacking a bit of power could check the DV to see what condition it is in!

That's quite normal in a short answer...
If you look at the power delivery graph of a standard map, the power does spike very quickly at a certain point in the rev range. A remap will help not to just unlock more power, but smooth the gradient of the graph (translating into more power available sooner in the rev range) resulting in a smoother acceleration feel (also faster due to more power overall).
A sports exhaust will exaggerate noise, just takes a bit of getting used to. Barely notice my Milltek exhaust these days, forget it's there (maybe why I've just signed up to get a full system!).

I've got a eurojet on my edition 30 dsg as well, what you've got is normal, I get it more at low down cruising just before it changes gear (high 30s before changing to 4th) at 60 I wouldn't say it's a lot louder than OEM but that may be power delivery differences

Okay cheers for your input, put my mind at rest a little. The DV is something ill be changing anyway as i had a look at it not long ago and i belive it is a rev D type pierberg one. So ill be getting myself a Rev G is it the best one?
Then next thing will be a call to R Tech but also want to get myself evoms intake as it has a carbonio fitted at the moment which i dont rekon is doing alot if anything at all.

Also my mpg has dropped slightly with my journeys usually getting me around the 33-35 mark its now around 29-31 but im thinking that also could be in relation to having the exhaust fitted perhaps?
Not that i worry about mpg else i wouldnt have the car i got its just i noticed it has gone down slightly

I get low 30's around town....35 to 37 mixed driving. Get close to 40 on a run at 60-70mph
DSG with new Rev G DV and PSV, panel filter...everything else standard.

Best to get it changed if your going for a map just for peace of mind, rev g would be the best if i understand its the one that holds the most
Im after an evoms as well now theres a group buy at the minute on the forjm think we need 1 more to save over 50 quid, might be worth a look
