Post by: Nofx_phil75 on November 30, 2009, 02:34:40 pm
Where can I get a leather bonnet guard for my gti? I've never seen a mk5 with one on but the odd mk4 and polo! And what is the correct name for one!?? Cheers phil

I just don't understand car bras at all. They look naff and are they really to stop stone chips? If they are, why are they on the bonnet when you're much more likely to get chips lower down on the bumper.
Surely rubbing of the bra on the bonnet would cause more damage to the paint than the risk of stone chips. I drive about 800 miles a week and don't have any stone chips on the bonnet

So I can only assume that they are for looks only

I'm not meaning to offend anyone on here, I just REALLY don't get them!

Look at the first pic of my car. I've got a lower bumper part as well. They work, and I like the look of them.
