I'm new around here and I wanted to say "hi!" .
I'm from Bucharest, Romania.
Not a Gti, but close ....I'm the owner of a 2008 Revo Stage 2+ Cupra that I use on road and track:

Welcome along! We have quite a lot of regular overseas members.
What are the tracks like where you are? Are there many?
Where I live, in Nottingham there are lots of circuits within 80-100 miles :)
-
Hi and welcome :happy2:
-
welcome :happy2: hope your enjoying the car? what's happened to the passenger sill?
-
welcome to the club m8
have you got a quick spec list of the car?
-
Hi all, thanks for your warm welcome!
:)) We don't get many tracks around here, in fact the first one was finished last year. No safety, no run-off area. I hope that they will do something about this soon.
As you can see here it nearly cost me the car: :scared: :scared:
The passenger sill was "injured" when parking over a boulder hidden in high snow. In the city there are only a few parking spaces in rush hour and when it snows it gets worse.
The car specs are:
Revo stage 2+, Blueflame 100cell cat exhaust, EVO-MS Intake, APR HPFP, Bilstein B16 PSS10, Southbend Stage3 Endurance Clutch, Wavetrack LSD, H&R sway bars (26/24), TT Lower Arms, VW Racing+ BSH lower mount, 034 Motor/Transmision Mounts, S3 Intercooler, Tarox F2000 brake discs + Carbotech RP2 pads, Hel Brake lines, BBS VZ 032+ Federal FZ-201 tyres
I've just ordered the AP Racing's "Big Brake Formula" Kit with 6 pot calipers and 355mm "floating" discs because I have murdered the stock brakes/Tarox/Carbotech setup. Hope they will solve my braking problems.
To make room for the new brakes I had to order Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 8x18 ET45 wheels. I will open a new thread so I can get help decide what track tyres should i order for them next week.
I have to wait 4 weeks for the wheels and 9 for the brakes. :surprised:

I know the Oh sh*t moment, lol
Stock map as it was really damp in the morning and schoolboy lift off...
Dont know what happened to the sound on this clip
*Mandatory Mk5 Golf in the video

 Early turn-in and the same type of liftoff was my problem too. It was my first track day there and I missed that apex 3 times before so I was determined to hit it.
As long as the car is ok, we can call it a save.
-
Exactly haha. Problem was as it dried out and my lines got good around the circuit I still tip toed around that turn lol. Lost confidence there.
I wish I had the nuts to keep my foot down a bit to pull me through it but hey-ho.
-
Did alright to catch that Mike :innocent:
If you could do the same situation again, would you have kept the power in gently and tugged it round with some throttle?
-
I will grow some plums and try and drive into it more rather than just turn into it next time. Lol
-
Traction was off I think so I should've made use of the diff I spent £1200 on lol
@teo_parvu (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=11916) do you have a diff fitted? Great mod (when you keep some power on lol)
-
:signLOL:
Car looks great btw Teo, I have always had a soft spot for Cupra's :happy2:
There's a fair few like Mike around that are rocking these
-
Thanks Pete! It is a good ride, fairly quick and easy to improve.
@Tfsi_Mike (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=293) - Yes, it's a Wavetrack diff.
