Title: Brake upgrade
Post by: Patters78 on March 28, 2015, 08:34:03 am
Hi guys

Was wondering if I can get some help

I have a Jetta mk5 and have recently changed over the wheels from 16" to 18" and tbh the brakes now look tiny :(

So was thinking of putting bigger brakes? But not sure if it's possible..

My Jetta is an 06 TDI 140bhp not sure on current rotor size I will check.

Any help :)

You'll have 288mm discs.
The least you can do is keep your caliper/pads and use the carrier/discs from a 312mm setup (GT170/GTI), very easy swap that way with no bleeding of brakes to do.
