....
Currently the link is a bit 'buried' amongst a lot of other wordage under "Forum Stats" at the foot of only one page.
As the site continues to grow and have even greater volumes of threads and posts, viewing recent posts becomes an increasingly useful feature. But how about creating a direct link on the top red bar amongst the "Home" to "Members" links? There is plenty of space there.
I know you can set the most recent posts page as your default on this site but it's always desirable in interface design to have more than one option and I think a top bar link would be preferable for some of us (including me).

ive never browsed the forum that way, i press "show unread topics" under my PMs, and then click on the NEW logo which takes me straight to the posts

....Which proves the very well known fact (by interface designers) that people use several different ways to access something.
When you say "Under my PMs" do you mean under <Messages> because I see no such route.

top right on every page

....Oh yes - Buried in the small red type. Thanks, John :happy2:
Actually that's not the same as what I'm asking for. <Show unread posts..> is only a titles list and only "since last visit". I much prefer the showing of the individual posts and not the thread in which posts might be inside - Not as direct.

Back to topic, there may appear to be plenty of space on the top bar to you Robin but there are already a number of other buttons up there (mainly site control stuff).
Plus that stats tell me people prefer the "view unread posts..." option we already have.

....I think that we're all quite capable of handling another button (I hope so!). Or are there a great number of buttons there which are not visibe to the user?
Plus that stats tell me people prefer the "view unread posts..." option we already have.
....I wasn't suggesting that the option we already have was deleted - I was suggesting that an additional option was offered.
You may already be aware that I have been part of the pre-release external development team for the Adobe Creative Suite for the past 6 years. As a direct consequence I have learnt that offering a user more than one option in an interface is highly desirable. Most people probably do it the way your stats tell you because of what the current options are. It's actually your reasoning which I find difficult to agree with rather than whether there is an additional option offered or not.
But, this is not a subject which is critical for the enjoyment or functionality of this site, so no problem.
